Meet Dr. Dee Whelchel
Dr. Dee earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia in 2007 before heading to Texas A&M University for an internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery. She later returned to the University of Georgia to complete a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine and subsequently achieved board certification through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Over her career, she has worked in both private practice and academia, including serving as a faculty member at the University of Missouri. In 2017, Dr. Dee moved back to North Georgia to be closer to family and continued her work in private equine practice. Beyond her passion for managing complex equine medical cases, she is a devoted horse owner and rider. She enjoys competing in dressage and eventing and shares her life in Milton, GA, with her husband, Curtis Mills, on their farm along with their two dogs and horses.
